Writing Elegies for Dead Men I Didn't Meet
Cathi Rae's Writing Elegies for Dead Men I Didn't Meet explores the
painful but important subject of male suicide in a series of eloquent and
sensitive poems each about a different real case. Drawing only on
information publicly available on social media, these are poems of
respectful distance as well as of imaginative sympathy; and they bear
moving testimony not only to the distinctive experience of each
commemorated individual but also to the tragically powerful social forces
that lead men to suffer in silence rather than share their feelings.

Your Cleaner Hates You: And Other Poems
“Ruling with a rod of irony, Cathi Rae is a contemporary spoken word icon”.
LYDIA TOWSEY
“Cathi Rae’s is a rare talent. She writes with a deft touch and elegant slight of mercurial hand to balance the personal and public, lyrical and political, funny and heart-breaking narrative, open and many shades of in between. Her poems are detailed, clear eyed, beautiful and necessary. The kind you’re glad to have found and want to tell your friends about”.
