Ceramic Christmas Tree Workshop with Jess Ellis

Join us at Harriman & Co. for a little festive creativity with ceramic artist Jess Ellis, making your very own ornamental ceramic Christmas tree.

In this two-hour workshop, Jess will guide you through the process of sculpting and shaping your tree. Starting with a cone-shaped clay base, you’ll learn how to create foliage, add texture and shape, and incorporate small metal hooks for hanging ribbons and decorations.

There will be plenty of inspiration to get you started, but you’re encouraged to make something entirely your own. Whether simple and sculptural or full of detail, each tree will be unique — a handmade decoration to bring out and enjoy every Christmas.

Everything you need will be provided, along with tea, coffee and a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a couple of hours away from the everyday.

The finishing touches

Once your tree is complete, Jess will take it away to dry before professionally firing it to 1060°C. It will then be glazed in a beautiful cream crackle glaze and fired once more to 1220°C.

Your finished ceramic tree will be ready to collect from Harriman & Co. approximately three weeks later — just in time for Christmas.
