Spend a relaxed morning getting your hands dirty with Leicestershire ceramic artist Jess Ellis as you create your own handmade terracotta plant pot.

Originally trained as an architect, Jess now works from her home studio creating beautifully tactile ceramics inspired by flowers, gardens and the natural world. Her work is known for its soft, organic forms, earthy terracotta, delicate glazes, ruffled edges, rich textures and hand-sculpted floral details.

During this two-hour workshop, Jess will introduce you to the simple coil-building technique, guiding you step by step as you shape your own unique pot. There’ll be plenty of inspiration to get you started, but you’re encouraged to make something that’s completely your own. Whether you prefer clean, simple shapes or love adding decorative details, this is a wonderfully creative session with no previous experience needed.

We’ll provide everything you need, along with tea, coffee and a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a couple of hours away from the everyday.

After the workshop, your pot will be left to dry before being professionally fired to 1060°C. Around three weeks later, your finished piece will be ready to collect from Harriman & Co.—just in time to fill with seasonal bulbs, herbs or your favourite houseplant.
